Nonna María is absolutely amazing! This place feels truly authentic and is honestly some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. The pasta was incredible, the service was fabulous, and the place is so cute and cozy. Everything we tried was delicious and tasted fresh and authentic. And the desserts were out of this world! 🍝🍰 I would 100% recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back. Such a great experience from beginning to end!!!!! Gracias

If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine, stop searching and go to Nonna Maria in Sarasota, Florida. This charming, small restaurant offers one of the biggest dining surprises I’ve had in years. The husband and wife owners, Tariq and Federica, recently arrived from Rome and bring true Italian hospitality with them. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a complimentary amuse-bouche and a refreshing Prosecco and orange juice cocktail, making you feel like a valued guest. Every part of the meal was exceptional. The lasagna, fresh bread, dinner salad, a wonderful glass of Chianti, and the most incredible homemade tiramisu, made from scratch by Federica. It really was the best Italian meal I’ve had since visiting Italy. The warm personalities of the owners, the beautiful decor, and the intimate atmosphere make it a true gem. In my opinion, it’s one of the very best Italian restaurants in the Sarasota area. If you appreciate authentic food, genuine hospitality, and an unforgettable dining experience, Nonna Maria deserves your visit. Can’t wait to return. Five stars, without hesitation.

Simply outstanding. This is destined to be the hot spot of the summer. Hurry in before it gets too crowded. Try the lasagna, poached egg, suppli and the Montepulciano. I can’t emphasize enough how amazing this place is. Finish with the lava cake with lemon pie ice cream. It’s the best you’ve ever had.

This restaurant is the closest thing I have found in the states to authentic Italian cuisine. Their carbonara was incredible! We will definitely be repeat customers!
